PD Dr. Susanne Lettow

Susanne Lettow is lecturer for philosophy and gender studies at Freie Universität Berlin and Research Associate at the Margherita von Brentano Centre for Gender Studies. At the Collaborative Research Centre "Structural Change of Property" she is co-Principal Investigator of the project "The Dynamics of the Reproductive Economy: Forms of Appropriation in Global Fertility Chains". She studied Philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin, where she also obtained her PhD. Later she acquired habilitation working on Biophilosophy, more specifically "Science, Technology and Gender in contemporary philosophical discourse". After that she was visiting professor at the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, the Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Basel, the Department of Political Science at the University of Vienna and at the Philosophy Department of Freie Universität Berlin. Her research currently focuses on theory and history of biopolitics, theory of science and technology, critical social philosophy and feminist philosophy.
