Laurits Kraus studied law at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena and completed his studies in July 2025 with the First State Examination. Motivated by his interest in other legal systems and comparative law, he spent a semester abroad at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (USA) from August to December 2025. There he acquired advanced knowledge of U.S. corporate law.
Since January 2026, Laurits Kraus has been a doctoral researcher and research associate in subproject A05, “Legal persons of private law with ownership of themselves“, where his research focuses on the proposed introduction of a new distinct legal form for steward-owned companies in German corporate law.
